Mihnea Costachi Chess Academy, supported by the WFCC, is organizing a double event for young composers and solvers under the aegis of the WFCC „Alba Carolina” Cup:

1. WFCC „Alba Carolina” Composing Cup
   An international composing tournament for juniors (U23), with a deadline for submitting entries of 15 October 2026. The genres are #2 and H#2.
2. WFCC „Alba Carolina” Solving Cup
   An international rated solving tournament open to participants of all age categories, to be held in Alba Iulia, Romania, on 18 October 2026.

A combined ranking of both competitions will be calculated for U23 participants. The best-performing junior will receive the WFCC „Alba Carolina” Cup trophy. To be eligible for the overall title, a participant must take part in both competitions — composing and solving.
